The story of. St. Antony's College began with the inspiration of Mr. B. Antony. It is relatively new venture; the College has taken giant leaps to Carve out a niche for itself in the educational setup of the capital. The founder and Director of St. Antony's Inter College, Mr. B. Antony is always eager to solve the problems of the students. Prior to this, Mr. Antony had been heading various missionaries' schools and colleges. The founder says- Success is a lifelong process of learning; learning from others and learning by doing.
He had many problems and hurdles. Yet he was not desperate. On , anuary 22, 1990 the institution was blessed by the Bishop of Lucknow Rev AIEN' DE LASTIC The College is housed in a large and beautiful building it is now affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi. It has spacious and airy classrooms with ample of fans and light tubes facility. The College has many toilets for the children and water taps in abundance. Mr. Antony has never cared for the past, he is keen for future. The result in the year of 2007 the College has achieved cent percent result in I.C.S.E. and I.S.C.
The main thrust of the Institution, besides imparting knowledge of various Arts and science subjects, is an all round physical, intellectual, mental and spiritual development of a child. Keeping this aim in mind the College has been insisting on co-curricular activities since 1990.Students have done well in the past to win several trophies and they intend to surge ahead in future. Mr. B. Antony believes in catching them young and then moulding them to suit the desired level in today's academic and competitive world. The cricket practising nets and the basket ball court make students physically fit and skilled sportsmen.
The College introduced the Commerce stream from March 2006. Four separate fully equipped labs, for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer are here to corporate the latest conception of specification. The College has a well equipped Library with a good number of books. Congratulations to Pranay who topped ISC with 95.75% and Sarvendu with 94.6% in ICSE. Students and Teachers have very cordial relations. It is unique relationship with the teaching faculty. Discipline and Punctuality is the main GOAL. At St. Antony's College children are trained to strive hard in life to reach the point of excellence. They do so by sheer hard work, dedication, perseverance and inspiration. College has a very dedicated group of teachers who work very hard with students and students too reciprocate by giving them due respect. The College believes that every child is a positive asset to the society and they need to be cherished and nurtured. In the words of Dr. Radha Krishnan,"The destiny of India is shaped in the classrooms." The College tries to provide an atmosphere where the students may achieve balanced emotional growth and good moral values to be responsible citizens of the nation.
He (Director) says," Work done with pleasure and love is always an original and unique creation. The hurdles have been numerous but we have crossed them without flinching. The end is nowhere in sight. There are many more miles to go from here but as far as 2007 is concerned college is surely on the mark to get, set and go."
