The South Indian Association of Kalyan started the school in 1947, in the name of Sri Vani Vidyashala, in Tamil medium up to 6th Standard. It was started by Shri Vaidyanathan who was the then head of the South Indian Association of Kalyan.The association brought up the institution from a small room measuring 12 ft. x 10 ft. in 1947 to the later status of a full fledged English medium school in its own four storied building on a free-hold plot in Rambaug Lane no. 5, Kalyan. It prepares students for the 10th Grade Secondary School Certificate(SSC) examination of Mumbai Divisional Board, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. In 1996 the school facilities were extended to a leased premises at Adarsh Hindi High School in Rambaug Lane no. 4, Kalyan where the Pre-Primary Section (Nursery, Jr. KG and Sr. KG) with a students strength of 628 and staff strength of 19 (both teaching and non-teaching) functioned till 2004-2005. In June 2005, the Pre-Primary Section was shifted to the premises of Adarsh Vinodini High School, in Rambaug, Kalyan.
