“Cooking is an integral part of everyone’s life and providing a platform to cooking will increase the creativity  and interest in kids 

As ‘Young Chef Cooking Competition’ was conducted as part of Times Newspaper In Education (NIE) initiative in the city on Friday. The highlight of the event was ‘cooking without fire’, as students from around 50 schools across the city participated in Hyderabad

As many as 40 teams participated in the event as a beautiful set of healthy snacks and salads were presented by the kids. “I made French Salad with major ingredients being red, green, and yellow bell peppers, zucchini and broccoli,” said NK Yash and K Sragvi from Hyderabad Public School.

Satya Pandari, sous-chef at HICC Novotel, Hyderabad, who was the chief guest and the judge of the competition was amazed by the seeing the talent in students as he said
“Most of the students at the event were self-taught cooks and said they want to pursue this further in life.”

Cooking without fire requires a knack for knowing which ingredients will best blend without being cooked, plus it also ensures the safety of kids,” he added. 

Through this competition students learned and showcased their culinary skills and most of the students, there were self-made cooks and are hoping to pursue their career in it.
