Documents for school admissions

Documents are an important part of the school admission process. Schools require documents as they form the very basis of the student's identity. It also helps them contact parents in case their child/children have a problem.


Most Delhi schools begin their admission process in March and April. Parents must complete the application and provide all mentioned documents. Applications with incomplete/missing/inauthentic documents might be rejected.

Here’s a list of all the documents which are required for school admissions in Delhi:


Mandatory Documents:


  • Photographs of the child, the parents, and a family photograph.


  • Address proof (Ration Card/Smart Card issued in the name of parents (Mother/Father having the name of child)/ Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents/ Voter I-Card (EPIC),etc.)


  • Birth certificate of the child.


  • Adhaar cards of the parents and child. 


  • Health Immunization certificates.


Extra Documents for admission in higher classes or changing schools:


  • Class X mark sheet (if applicable)


  • A transfer certificate from previous school.


  • Fee receipts provided by the previous school (past 6 months or more)
