Due to the rise in Coronavirus cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has extended the closure of the schools for students up to Class 8 till 4th April.
Earlier, the schools were closed till March 31. But Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued the new directions during a review meeting at his 5-Kalidas Marg residence.
The Chief Minister directed the closure of schools for students up to Class 8 till 4th April. And he added that the Covid-19 protocol should be followed for other classes. He also asked the officials to step up testing with a focus on the schools, old age homes, orphanages, and other such places.
And the Chief Minister said to reactivate the COVID hospitals. And the state has reported 10 more COVID-19 fatalities on Tuesday, pushing the death toll to 8,800. Also, 918 new cases pushed up the infection tally to 6,15,996.
