UP CM Yogi Aims for 100% Enrollment under ‘Operation Kayakalp’.

Since the pandemic started, the education sector had to go through one of the major roadblocks, which was the closing of schools. According to Adityanath, in the year 2019, the number of students in schools increased to 1.80 crores from 1.34 crores (2017 tally). Due to the efforts of the state government, the students were provided with free books, two uniform sets, shoes, socks, and sweaters.

But now that all the activities have resumed, on April 4, 2022, Adityanath launched "School Chalo Abhiyan", aiming for 100% enrollment in primary and upper primary schools all over the state. According to the statement, it will start from the district of Shravasti, which has the lowest literacy rate and lead towards Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun, and Rampur.

Adityanath also made sure to direct all the government schools to offer toilets, clean drinking water, furniture, and smart classes to students, along with other basic facilities, since earlier the lack of basic facilities caused the number of dropouts to be greater than the students enrolling. Since this operation is starting again after two years, directions are issued to the education department to gear up and start working towards this.
