Union Education Minister Inaugurates Two New Kendriya Vidyalayas In Bihar, Chhattisgarh

Two new  Kendriya Vidyalaya schools were virtually inaugurated by Union Education Minister,  Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday – one in Bettiah, Bihar and another in Korba of Chhattisgarh state.  The school education secretary and Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan were also present on this occasion.

Mr Pokhriyal told that the new building of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bihar’s Bettiah has been constructed at the total expenditure of Rs. 13.06 crores, while that of Korba in Chhattisgarh costs of Rs. 15.86 crores. Both the buildings are built with green standards promoting nature conservation. He also added that there are 53 Kendriya Vidyalaya at present in Bihar, out of which 4 Kendriya Vidyalayas are running in two shifts.

While addressing he also told that a total of 1,245 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools are there nationwide out of which 953 are being run from their buildings and the process of building the remaining schools is going on at a pace that these schools will be also run from their buildings soon. The Minister said that the last six years witnessed the construction of  151 new Kendriya Vidyalaya schools in the country. It's worthwhile to mention that 13,88,899 students are receiving an excellent education in these institutions.
