NCPCR's tele-counselling service essentially provides emotional and psychological aid to the children affected by Covid-19 and are in quarantine, care centres or the children who lost their parents due to the virus.

A toll-free counselling number has been launched by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for children affected by the pandemic.

Named as SAMVEDNA (Sensitizing Action on Mental Health Vulnerability through Emotional Development and Necessary Action): The children can dial the number, 18001212830, between 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm from Monday to Saturday. When a child connects with them, a professional counsellor speaks to the child in a safe environment.

The tele-counselling is a team of specially trained counsellors by an expert team of National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) to support children all over India and in numerous regional languages.
