It's been a long time since the schools were shut down in March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. The entire paradigm of classes had shifted online as reopening schools in the midst of a pandemic was a really tough decision.

But schools are gradually being reopened to aid the 10th and 12th standard students in preparing for their board exams. Almost all the schools are taking this up as Phase One of reopening schools. Likewise, in Uttarakhand too, classes for the students of standards 10 and 12 were started back in November 2020. But they had to hold back from reopening school for the students of the lower classes just then.

However, in a recent meeting, the cabinet of Uttarakhand has revealed that classes for students of standards 6 to 12 will resume on February 8. This will be applicable for both government and private schools. The government has also mentioned that all safety protocols are to be exercised in the schools to ensure the complete safety of everyone present.
