Punjab’s Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla just clarified that school timings in Punjab will change from February 22. This change of school times will apply to all government, private and un-aided schools.

The education department has mentioned that, from Monday, the primary schools will have classes from 9 am to 3 pm and the middle and high school will continue to function until 3:20 pm. The minister also clarified that these changes have been incorporated in an attempt to focus on the revision of students before the approaching annual exams.

“Pre-board examinations are being held in the school, and special focus will be given on students after reviewing their performance. Now with the change in school timings, students and teachers will get an extra hour for final revisions which will help them excel in exams,” Singla was quoted saying.
