Punjab: ‘Pre-board’ exams for classes 1 to 12 from Feb 8, offline exams for classes 9 to 12

The schedule for pre-boards examination of classes in the state government school have been announced by the Punjab’s State Council of Educational Research and Training that it will start from February 8.

The order said that not only higher classes but also all the other classes have to give pre-board examinations this year. A decision has been taken to ‘prepare’ students for final exams as regular classes could not be held this year due to Covid said the Education Department. 

The pre-board exams for class 1 to 8 will be held both offline and online, and students can choose whichever medium they want to appear in the exams, as per the orders issued by the Director SCERT. Students have to report to the center to appear in the physical examination whereas for classes 9 to 12 exams will be held in offline mode only.

The orders said that the Punjab School Education Board introduced a new pattern so according to which the question papers will be set this year. Preparatory exams are being taken for all classes this year so that in case final exams are not held in March due to Covid, said the further sources.
