Punjab govt partners with Khan Academy to provide educational content for schools

The Punjab government has tied up with Khan Academy in order to make educational content more accessible in the state. This partnership, supported by the SBI Foundation will also prioritize localising content so that students from all across Punjab can learn in their own language.

This initiative is a positive step towards democratising quality education through content localisation, as prescribed in the New Education Policy (NEP).

"The focus of the partnership will be on successfully implementing a personalised math learning programme for 1,00,000 learners in Punjab. SBI Foundation and SBI Funds Management Pvt. Ltd. are providing funding support for math content localisation in Punjabi and teacher training programmes for over 5,000 teachers across 3,000 schools in Punjab" according to a statement.

The Punjab educational department will also work closely with Khan Academy to create specialised content on Math and Science, consisting of articles, videos, and practice exercises.

All the content will be available for free on the Khan Academy website to help students build a strong foundation in Math from classes 6-12. Khan Academy will also be working closely with the Punjab govt to educate over 5000 teachers on how to use the portal and implement personalised math learning in the classroom.
