Public interest litigation (PIL), seeking a direction to the Union of India (UOI), has been filed before the SC by Dr Nand Kishore Garg through his lawyer, Shashank Deo Sudhi to issue comprehensive guidelines with respect to online virtual classes, as there could be a threat of exposure to unpleasant materials and other countless websites available on the internet that can seriously affect the all-round growth and development of the children.

Sudhi sought that the guidelines should have a proper mechanism to prevent access to prohibited websites. He also sought that the respondents should be immediately ordered to discontinue the online classes until a completely encrypted and safeguard manner is formulated. He further sought a direction to evolve proper mechanism, ensuring the computer devices for the children of the EWS.
