Government has said that nursery admissions to private schools will start from 29th November. These admissions will be for the session 2020-2021. DoE believes that starting the process on time is beneficial for both the parents and the school. Consequently, the studies will also begin on time. Last year, the process started on the 15th of December.

Director of Education, Binay Bhushan said that the notification for the admission process would announce soon. Admission to initial classes will be based on a pointer system. The admission criteria would be uploaded on schools’ and the DoE website both.

He further added that schools can’t keep the criteria that have been removed by the High Court. DoE will also put out a list of things on which admissions can’t be based on. A monitoring committee would also be made to look out for the same. Like last year, this year also neighbourhood preference will hold the most value. Also, the age limits put out last year would probably remain the same. 3-4 for nursery, 4-5 for kindergarten(KG) and 5-6 for class 1(as on 31st of March 2020).

Stay tuned for more.
