Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 suggests many revolutionary changes in higher education and schools as well as it will lead to holistic development of students. Singh held communication with the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme about the new NEP.

The NEP approved by Union Cabinet replaced the National policy of education framed in 1986. NEP aims at transformational reforms in the education system, making India the global knowledge superpower.

"The New Education Policy is the first policy in Indian history in which a multi-pronged and multi-stakeholder consultative process was undertaken which included online, grassroots and national level deliberations," Mr Singh said on Twitter.
"The National Education Policy will fulfil the vision of Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi to create a 'self-reliant India'," Mr Singh noted.
