The Maharashtra govt has allowed schools to reopen in Mumbai from January 24, 2022. After the chief minister of the state gave approval for the school reopening, BMC released Mumbai school reopening guidelines.
In their guidelines, BMC has said that attendance is not mandatory for anybody. It is also compulsory for students to bring consent letters and wear masks at all times.
Here’s a complete list of revised guidelines and SOPs.
1. It is not mandatory for anyone to attend offline classes. They can continue to attend online classes.
2. Students who are going to schools have to follow all covid protocols such as wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing.
3. Students who are coming back to school must have a consent letter from their parents and schools must ensure that they collect these consent forms.
4. All teaching and non-teaching staff have to come to schools to carry out disinfection and sanitisation before reopening.
5. All teaching and non-teaching staff have to come to schools to prepare for this reopening.
6. The children’s vaccination plan should continue in schools that fall under BMC.
This comes after CM Uddhav Thackeray approved the decision to reopen schools in Maharashtra. The announcement was also made by Maharashtra school education minister, Varsha Gaikwad on Thursday.
