Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, said that it’s time to push the well-being of children into domains of learning and the mainstream subjects.
He emphasized the teaching that should be mindful and resilient for the overall wellbeing of the children at the Harvard Social Enterprise Conference on mental health and social-emotional learning.
The initiative is taken to develop resilient children through the entrepreneurship mindset curriculum. He said, irrespective of what children want to pursue, we want the students to think like an entrepreneur who is willing to dream big and try new challenging goals.
He also said that the happiness curriculum of the Delhi government is able to push our eco-system and make them think about long-term approaches to mental health.
The objective of the happiness curriculum is to develop self-awareness and mindfulness. It helps the children to apply life skills so that they can deal with stressful life situations. The Minister said that almost 3 to 4 lakh children who have practiced mindfulness have helped their homes to be strong.
The Harvard Social Enterprise Conference has brought the top-leaders, students, practitioners to engage in a virtual dialogue debate and expression around the social enterprise. And this year’s theme was Resilience and Reckoning with Innovations in Mental Health.
