Maharashtra Legislator Introduces Five-Day Working Week In Schools, Colleges

A five-day working week has been announced by the Maharashtra government
on Feb 12, 2020 for the government employees in the state, a decision which was
taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister Uddhav
Thackrey.

constituency has written to the Maharashtra Education Minister Varsh Gaikwad
demanding a five-day working week for the schools, junior and senior colleges to
help reduce the burden not only the education of the school children but the from
the teachers and professors who will be able to prepare in a better way for their
teaching assignments as well.
According to reports, the new system will be applicable from February 29, 2020,
onwards.
