The pandemic has let schools and colleges remain shut in Jharkhand for almost a year now. Most of the states have already resumed the reopening of schools and colleges in phases, and Jharkhand too had resumed classes only for students of 10th and 12th following their approaching board exams.

But Chief Minister Hemant Soren just revealed that schools, for class 8 and above, and colleges in Jharkhand will finally reopen on March 1st. The decision was at a meeting chaired by the CM on February 18. The CM also mentioned that attendance for the government employees will be compulsory once the educational institutions reopen. The students, however, will attend school only after attaining complete consent from their parents.

The schools and colleges have to follow all safety precautions after reopening.
