The Union Health Ministry announced guidelines for conducting teaching activities in the classrooms. On Sunday, the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ashwini Kumar Choubey shared a picture of the guidelines on his Twitter handle. The health ministry issued Higher Education Institutes conducting courses in technical programs requiring lab work, the Standard Operating Procedures for Skill training institutes to be permitted from September 21.

"The staggering of classroom activities, with separate time slots, to allow adequate physical distancing and disinfection of classroom premises. Academic scheduling to have intermix of regular classroom teaching and online assessment. Teaching faculty to ensure that they and students ear masks throughout teaching activities. Sharing of items like laptops, notebook, stationery amongst students to not to be allowed," the guidelines said.

Highlighted Points:

  1. Students from classes 9 to 12 would be allowed to attend school outside the containment areas, with the written consent of their parents or guardian.
  2. The choice of medium will be given to attend the school- virtual or physical, for teachers' guidance, only with the written permission of their parents.
  3. Sanitization must be maintained in all classrooms, laboratories, other common areas before starting the school and at the end of the day.
