Life is a colloquium of contrasting dualities. There will always be some rain for the rainbow to appear brightly. Life often throws tempestuous questions at us that profoundly leave us agitated, restless, and disturbed and impede our respective progressions. We are constantly puzzled by questions that revolve around emotional support, general lessons, righteousness of our paths, and strength to perform our duties without indolence, for instance. The Bhagawad Geeta is a formidable book that has the answers to all of these questions. It is the remedy for multifarious problems that not only imparts quintessential theoretical perspectives on compassion, love, and tranquility. It is a compendium of humanist principles that aren’t exclusive to any particular religion.
In an attempt to ascertain the magnificence of this stupendous reservoir of wisdom, the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar hosts annually, an Inter-school Geeta Recitation Competition. This year, the competition oversaw the participation of an overwhelming number of 412 students from 40 schools all across Delhi NCR.d The Principal of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Ms. Archana Soni declared the event open, and eventually the gathering was filled with the mesmerizing and the sagacious blithe of children chanting the sanguine mantras.
The school also delivers special classes as part of its curriculum for students, where discussions are held on the philosophy of the Bhagawat Geeta with the help of day-to-day examples. This is an excellent initiative on the part of the institution’s fraternity to foster a positive and reinvigorating spirit among children as they consistently become equipped to face the challenges of the modern world. Recitations of the shlokas of the Bhagawat Geeta calm the mind and instill a sense of peace in the atmosphere. The book is a manual on how to live and endure a righteous way of life which is an element certainly above the general purview of religion. The school must be complimented for its unique initiative of connecting students with the ethos of their civilization and fostering a pluralistic view on harmony and parity among children.
