Earlier, the Delhi High Court had ordered both Government and Private schools to provide EWS  and DG students with gadgets and free Internet. However, this still looks like a distant dream.

On the 18th of September, Delhi High Court had directed to set up a three-member committee within a week. The committee comprised of the Union Secretary of Education or his nominee. Delhi’s Education Secretary or his nominee and representative of private school. However, the three-member committee is yet to meet.

The bench comprised of Justice Manmohan and Sanjeev Narula. They said that if an unaided school incurs additional costs then the same is to be reimbursed by the government. SK Bhattacharya, President of Action Committee Recognize Private School, will represent the private schools in the committee. He said that a clear procedure needs to be laid down which can be done only when the committee meets. The committee has to identify the type of devices, should they be purchased or taken on lease, etc. Also, since schools are to be opened soon, these devices are needed only for a short time. The unaided schools also need assurance of reimbursement from the Government.
