Delhi Schools are set to close for winter vacation for students. According to the recent order issued by the Directorate of Education, schools would be closing for winter vacation from January 1 to 15, 2022. Recently, with approval from the Commission for National Air Quality Management, schools reopened for class 6 onwards for physical classes from December 18, 2021 whereas schools for classes upto 5 were reopened on the 27th of the same month. Schools were shut in the national capital due to the deteriorating air quality. As per the official notice released, with schools remaining closed for winter vacation, online as well as offline teaching as well as learning activities that are conducted through worksheets, would not be conducted during this period.
While teaching and learning activities would not be conducted for students, in order to ease the academic burden, schools would revise the syllabus of the academic year 2021-22 that has been covered so far. Further, as per the notice released, all heads of Sarvodaya Vidayala should inform students about the winter break through their parents.

As of now, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 1103 cases. Further, the death ratio due to COVID-19 in the national capital is 1.74%. Schools have reopened with proper COVID-19 guidelines such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, using hand sanitizer, and others. Further, as per the notice, school teachers might take note of the strengths as well as weaknesses of students so that after the winter vacation, individual attention would be allotted to each student.
