With the rapid rise in covid-19 cases in the country, the schools of Delhi will remain shut till July 31, said Manish Sisodia, Deputy Delhi CM on Friday.

Schools are shut since the second half of March due to the situation of pandemic. Delhi schools announced summer break from May 11 for class nursery to 8, and from May 29 for the rest. Now that the break is over, schools are planning to continue education in a digital way.

Officials at both government and private schools had earlier said that with infections surging in the national capital, chances of calling students to school are bleak for July.

Parents have also campaigned against the reopening of schools earlier this month. Several of them have supported online learning and want it to continue till the disease diminishes.
