Every parent goes through a phase in which they have to deal with their kid's lying. These 5 steps will help to overcome the situation.

"HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY":
 A child learns what he/she sees. Make it a rule, and ensure that everyone follows it. This will teach the kid importance of truthfulness.

CREATE STORIES AND EXAMPLES:
Tell your kid stories about honest personalities and how it is essential and helpful, this is the best way to get your message across.

CREATE COMFORT FOR BEING HONEST:
Scolding or hitting might make it worse. Assure them that they can trust you completely.

FIND THE REASON
Kids lie due to certain reasons, from bragging to avoiding duties. Help them to tame the habit as it should not become permanent.
