A few days ago, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) decided to remove a few topics from the syllabus of students studying in Class 10th, 11th and 12th. Some topics from class 11th and 12th’s political science and history were dropped which included topics on ‘democracy and diversity’, mughal courts, poems by Faiz, Islamic Empires and cold war. Similarly in class 10th’s social science, CBSE decided to exclude the topic "impact of globalization on agriculture" from a chapter on 'Food Security'.

After there were a lot of talks about the exclusion of these topics, the officials said that the exclusion of these topics were done for the sake of syllabus rationalization as well as they were in alignment according to the NCERT.
