Delhi govt provides age relaxation for admission into schools

As per the Directorate of Education, six months of age relaxation will be available to admission-seeking students by the Head of School.

The age relaxation will be up to four years for Divyang kids seeking admissions.

 

The government of Delhi has decided to relax the age bar for admissions into schools across the national capital. This conclusion has been taken by the Directorate of Education, Delhi, to make sure that no child is left behind when it comes to education.

 

The decision to lower the age criteria for the 2021-22 academic session has been taken in view of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the education system across the national capital, and the loss of academics throughout the year.

 

The Delhi government has opened the application form submission window for parents who are looking for admissions for their children in Delhi schools. The form submission window was opened online this year, from June 11, 2021.

Various documents are also required along with the application form while seeking admission into Delhi schools. The documents are- 

 

• One passport size photograph of the child
   
• For Class 6 to 8: School leaving certificate of a recognized school OR Original Date of Birth Certificate issued by MCD or any other Local Body OR An Undertaking by the Parents regarding Date of Birth as per Part-B of the Application Form. For class IX: School leaving certificate of a recognized school.
   
• Mark sheet of the previous class passed (if applicable)
   
• Certificate of Caste (in case of SC/ST/ OBC) (if applicable)
   
• Certificate of disability (in case of Divyang Student)
