The Scottish Church Collegiate School is one of the leading educational institutions of West Bengal having a history of 180 years. It is situated at 73, Bidhan Sarani, Kolkata - 700006. The School was founded in 1830 by the Rev. Dr. Alexander Duff, who came to Calcutta as the first missionary of the Church of Scotland to India. He was actively supported by Raja Rammohan Roy, the father of modern India.Rammohan helped Dr. Duff to secure Kamal Bose's House on Chitpur Road and actively supported him. The school was established at the residence of the-then famous Firinghi Kamal Bose on 51 Upper Chitpur Road . Thus, the General Assembly’s Institution publicly started on the 13th of July, 1830.
