Dashmool Kwath is a combination of 10 ayurvedic herbs that are used in the treatment of various health issues like lower back pain, fever, and lung problems. Its name is derived from ‘Dash’ means ‘Ten’ and ‘Mool’ means ‘Roots’. It is reported that lupeol, beta-sitosterol, and stigmasterol were identified in plant extracts using the HPLC Shimadzu Model LC2010 AHT Auto Sampler (UV-VIS Detector). Lupeol, beta-sitosterol, and stigmasterol analysis of petroleum ether extract from Dashmool was done using the techniques. According to the TLC analysis of the Dashmool petroleum ether extract, sitosterol, stigmasterol, and lupeol were all present at various Rf levels. There are distinctive peaks in the petroleum ether extract of Dashmool's HPLC profile at retention times of 2.888, 2.971, 3.135, 3.442, 4.018, 4.220, 4.406, 4.885, 5.388, 5.657, 6.083 (Stigmasterol), 7.848, 9.137, 10.012, 17.656 (Lupeol), 18.138 (-Sitosterol), and 23.096. These peaks demonstrated that there are several components and distinctive medication fingerprints to identify in a herbal composition.

What Ten Distinct Roots Are Used In Dashamoola?

This extraordinary mixture combines ten extraordinary ayurveda roots, each of which exhibits amazing qualities. This comprises the "5 Brihat Panchamoola," which are derived from huge trees, such as Bilva, Agnimantha, Kashmari, Shyonaka, and Patala, and the "5 Laghu Panchamoola," which are derived from lesser shrubs, such as Sarivan, Kantakari, Shalaparni, Prishniparni, and Gokhru.

The health benefits of the 10 roots are now available in easily ingestible forms, including arishtams (i.e. aqueous preparations), kwatha (i.e. decoction), vatis (i.e. tablets), kalpa (i.e. paste), tailam (i.e. oil), and even ghritam.
