Here are the reasons why parents should stop obsessing over their child’s academic learning:

  • The mental health of a child: Academic learning does not make your child intelligent. It is the experience, life skills and extracurricular activities that are more important. If you pressurize your child to score good marks, it will disturb his mental peace and nothing is more important than the mental health of a child.
  • Unconventional is good: If you think that survival in future depends on his good score then you are wrong. There are many skills and professions that your child can choose and become successful in life.
  • Reduces confidence in a child: If you teach your child that getting good marks will make him more successful then he will develop a constant fear of failure. This will make him more anxious and less confident.
  • Soft skills are not learned from books: There are many important things than just academic learning such as being humble, soft-spoken, skills to deal with different people and situations. These skills cannot be learned from books
