UGC releases guidelines for reopening of higher education institution

The UGC releases guidelines regarding reopening of higher education institutions. As per the guidelines, all education institutions outside the containment zone has to be opened in phases, starting first with research, Masters and finally are UC students. But, the number of students attending classes at a given time should half the total strength of students.

All education institutions across the country are closed since March 16 due to coronavirus pandemic. However, last month the centre allowed the state government to decide on phased reopening after October 15.

Apart from standard precautions, the higher education suggested that institutions follow a six-day schedule, extending teaching us to ensure social distancing. All teachers have to wear masks and attendance of students will be voluntary.
