On Monday, the Delhi cabinet approved the establishment of about 100 schools of specialized excellence. These schools will provide a platform for children to enhance their talent and excel in the areas of their interests.
The specialization will be in the area of Performing and Visual Arts, Humanities, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and the high-end 21st-century skills, said Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister.
He said that we will live in an era of specialization and excellence. Thus we require an opportunity that will teach us to be ready for the next generation's challenges. And every child is unique and special. So, the education minister wants to ensure that the children receive the right opportunity and support to achieve higher success in their lives.
The minister further added that these schools will cover Classes from 9 to 12. And they will be choice-based in the framework of 5+3+3+4 of schooling, which is introduced by the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
Also, all the government schools will get upgraded to the Schools of Excellence. And to the level of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya.
The Schools of Specialized Excellence will focus on the experiential learning teaching method, creativity, mentorship schemes, strong partnerships, and problem-solving.
