Being mentally safe and sound is as important as being physically healthy, perhaps even more. But when it comes to children, we often assume that they do not have to deal with any mental traumas or distress. However, that’s not at all too. Kids, too, can be a prey of ill mental health and thus, we need to take care of that.
Here are some tips to help you take care of your child’s mental health.
- Encourage a healthy lifestyle in kids. Explain to them the importance of a proper healthy diet, a good night’s sleep and routine workout sessions.
- Take notice of your child’s behaviour. Weigh out the changes, if any. Also, try to understand why they are doing things in a certain way.
- Be supportive of your child. Listen to what they have to say. Assure them of your love with frequent I Love You(s).
- Let your kids know about stress and make them familiar about dealing with it. Introduce them to coping mechanisms that can help them to calm down.
And most importantly, let your kid know that you are there for them- always.
