Students' Plea against fee hike

Source: NDTV

The plea made by some students of NIFT challenging fee hike, saying it cannot be termed arbitrary is dismissed by Delhi High Court. The plea raised by the 4th year students is completely vague as said by Delhi High Court.

The students are raising grievances that fees had been hiked by 10% for NRI quota students and 5% for non-NRI quota students. The circular containing fee structure for the academic year 2020-22 is being challenged by students.

After reviewing the academic circular the court said that the fee hike for non-NRI quota students was reduced by 5% for the semester of July- December 2020 and also for January-June 2021 keeping in view the pandemic.
