According to data from a long term study on the teaching of science and mathematics, smaller class size is not always associated with better performance. Researchers from Michigan State University, US believe that the effect of a smaller size of a class differs in different counties and may vary in different subjects and academic years.

Mostly parents are the ones who prefer the smaller size of classes for their children as it is easier for the teacher to focus individually on students, many places have a rule to not have more than 30 students in a class. After a lot of research and different studies in different countries, the analysis revealed that smaller class sizes were associated with benefits in Romania and Lithuania, but not in Hungary and Slovenia.
