Shiksha: My Experiment As An Education Minister

On 6th September 2019, our former president Mr Pranab Mukherjee praised and congratulated Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, because of their constant effort to change the education system of India. Mr Manish Sisodia, our deputy chief minister and education minister launched his book - Shiksha.

Shiksha is a journey of our education system from changing examination patterns to government schools of Delhi. Mr Manish Sisodia launched this book with a vision of telling the people of India, about the changes made by the education department. Recounting all the decision, experiences and experiments.

Shiksha is about educating us about the work of government and how we can use these learnings in our lives. The major changes are done in the capital city. Because Delhi attracts a lot of students from all around the country. People from different states, villages come to Delhi in search of a better life and income. Our education system and the AAP Government has given a lot of enhancements to public and government schools and due to which more than 86% of people are literate in Delhi.

Still, there is a long way to go and we need more changes in the education system. As said by Mr Manish Sisodi, that AAP government has tried to improve the school system. And they will focus on removing the gap between the government schools and private schools. He firmly believes that his priority is to make quality education an enterprising approach. The overall improvement in infrastructure, teaching curriculum and proper training.

The former president said, “Student should be encouraged to ask more questions.” He also encouraged “Happiness curriculum” which was launched in Delhi and is a proud moment for our education department.

In the end, we should learn from our mistakes and look forward in lives.

Secondly, when we have fewer resources, we should look for the best alternative and work accordingly.
