Plea seeking payment of salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff

The Delhi High Court asked Delhi Government to respond on a plea which had claimed that for the last five months salaries and other emoluments of serving teachers and non-teaching staffs had not been paid by their respective colleges.

The Court had issued the notice to Delhi Government and DU seeking their stand by November 20 on a petition by the organization representing the teaching and non-teaching staffs.

Teaching and non-teaching staffs, retired or serving, during COVID-19 are facing hardships due to non-payment of salaries and retiral benefits. The Government briefed the Court about the directions issued to colleges for releasing outstanding salaries from Student Society Fund.
