The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, stresses on building the capacity of students, teachers and institutions. This new policy will empower the people of the country, as said by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The Union Minister conveyed pleasure at the nationwide approval of the new policy while speaking at the 'National Education Policy - 2020: Bright Future of Education' webinar on Friday. The Union cabinet approved the New Education Policy on July 29. The changes have been made with a view of creating an education policy that will directly contribute in transforming the country, providing high-level education to all, and make India a global knowledge superpower.

The policy aims at developing character, scientific temper, creativity, and enabling an individual to study one or more essential field of interest at a deeper level, and also the 21st-century capabilities among a various range including science, arts, etc.
