With the need to compensate for sporadic classes because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Education Department has instructed to resume classes with strict SOPs as mentioned by the Manipur Education Minister. Willing students who want to attend classes will be tested for COVID-19 before their attendance said the Minister.

Depending on the circumstances of the respective schools and colleges, shifts may be conducted for classes, said Mr S. Rajen Singh. Regular visits and inspections will also be conducted.

Proper directions have been given to involved officers of the Education Department. Singh said that medical kits like hand sanitiser, face mask, washing soaps, and detergents will be provided by the government among the students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff.

Minister Rajen appealed to the teachers, guardians, students, and other civic organizations to cooperate with the decision of the government on the opening of educational institutions in the state.
