During the Covid-19 lockdown, the distribution of rations, carrying out the serological survey in colonies and working in containment zones and quarantine centres were handled by a large number of teachers. Now with a slightly better situation, Delhi government school teachers will be expected to be actively engaged in the vaccination centres. The teachers selected for this will be given a one-day training.

The various functions at the vaccination booths were instructed to them in the training as informed by the teachers. The teachers that are appointed are all below the age of 50. The teachers are yet to be assigned their specific booths and the time they have to report for work. On January 16 the vaccine administration will start in Delhi.

Transmitting the data to the district head offices twice a day is also the responsibility of the teachers who are appointed. All Covid-related work at the North-West district magistrate’s office in the past few months have been performed by RM Meena, vice-principal, Government Boys’ Senior Secondary School, Prem Nagar. For the vaccination exercise teachers are awaiting the final work schedule added RM Meena.
