In step with officers, a door-to-door survey was conducted to spot-free kids and prepare an action set up for their admission as a part of efforts to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly on migrants. The plan was set by the Education Ministry of Delhi. Restful detention norms to stop drop-outs this year and a slew of measures to handle learning loss thanks to the coronavirus-induced termination of schools had been suggested by the ministry.

The aim of this move is the identification, admission, and continued education of migrant kids who have been at a disadvantage throughout the pandemic. Rules for providing support to students throughout the closure of schools and after they open were issued by the ministry.

The recommendations created by the Ministry for Student Support throughout the closure of schools are:-

  • Exploring the choice of classroom-on-wheels and classes in tiny teams at the village level.

  • Increasing the access of kids to online and digital resources

  • Use of TV and radio to scale back learning losses.

  • Ensuring easy and timely access to the provisions of uniforms, textbooks, and mid-day meals.

Schools have also been told to formulate and implement ideas to help the migrant students feel comfortable in their school environment once the physical classes are resumed.
