Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia on Monday said that the Delhi government will come up with its educational board soon if CBSE keeps making arbitrary decisions. “ This is an irony but I see it as a blessing that there is no education board in Delhi. We are preparing to give Delhi its educational board.”

The statement came after CBSE increased their examination fee from 150 per subject to 300 per subject. Sisodia said that his officials opposed CBSE'S decision in their previous monthly meetings but CBSE keeps making such arbitrary decisions without considering Delhi Government.

However, the new board is not going to be the replica of CBSE. It will rather help students to prepare for entrance level exams like JEE & NEET. The minister plans to set a curriculum where there are separate grades for students according to the subject they want to pursue in future.

Sisodia further explained " If a child wants to become a journalist, he/she can take A grade language or maybe C grade of science so that if he has to cover science, so that he is well - versed with the basics"

On the progress of this move, the education minister said "We thought about this in 2015 itself and even started working towards it. However, when we saw the condition of the buildings and got a sense of a scholastic environment in the classes, we realized that before introducing a new board, we had to first work on improving the infrastructure."

The new board is being set up to help students prepare for entrance exams and give them higher-level training on the subject that they want to pursue. It has no motive to replace CBSE it would only help students in studies other than just school education.
