Candidates who missed JEE Advanced 2020 can re-appear in 2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the candidates who had missed the JEE Advanced 2020 exam will be granted an extra chance to appear for the test next year. 

The Joint Entrance Board (JAB) announced in its emergency meeting held on Wednesday, their decision to the extension of the number of attempts of candidates who had skipped the exam to ensure equal opportunity to all, following the demands of students and academicians for the same.

The number of such students is around 1 lakh which is sizeable in comparison to the number of candidates who were eligible to appear for this year's exam (2.5 lakh).  Following the decision of the board, these students will be allowed to appear in JEE Advanced 2021 without qualifying for JEE Mains 2021. Further, relaxation and decrement in the eligibility criteria and age bar of such candidates have been decided.
